How to interpret your Dubai vs Riyadh salary calculator results
Annual income equals basic salary × 12, plus annual cash housing allowance and other monthly cash allowances × 12. Annual costs equal personally paid rent, school fees after capped reimbursement, monthly transport, other spending and deductions × 12, plus other annual expenses. Surplus is income minus those costs.
The financially favorable package is identified from recurring annual savings. Compare that result with the first-year balance, because relocation costs can temporarily reverse the advantage.
First-year balance subtracts non-refundable moving costs. Refundable deposits are excluded from expenditure; keep a separate payment calendar for the cash they tie up. Monthly equivalents do not change rent or school invoice due dates.
The recurring difference converts Dubai’s annual surplus to SAR before subtracting it from Riyadh’s. Equivalent basic salary holds the entered expenses and cash allowances fixed. It is a budget comparison, not a professional salary benchmark. Results are rounded for display; calculations use the entered values.
Assumptions and limitations
Enter applicable tax, social-insurance, debt and other obligations yourself. The tool does not determine tax residence, visa eligibility, benefit entitlement or future investment returns. Negative savings are funding gaps. A positive result is not guaranteed and depends on complete, realistic inputs.
The example deliberately uses assumed figures and a rounded conversion assumption. Replace it with your offer, current quotations and chosen bank or provider’s conversion terms before making a decision.
